  Very favorable impression. The priest is wonderful and parishioners very friendly. The parish does a lot of good locally, nationally, and internationally via outreach.

  St. Anselm's is "The Little Church that Could", like the engine in the famous children's book. I was searching for a church that would give me what I needed both spiritually or socially. The first time I went to church at St. Anselm's, I was struck by the warm familial feeling that pervaded the place, and the fact that people took the time to come up, introduce themselves to me, and make me feel like I was welcome. I decided I would come back. I have never regretted it.
  
  The priest and his wife are terrific! The parishoners are open and accepting, the "church politics" are collaborative, rather than devisive. The church is committed to outreach and puts about 10% of it's total annual income to programs for those less fortunate. It is an active participant in the annual "Winter Nights" homeless shelter program.
  
  It's also a congregation that knows how to play as well as pray. The services are FUN! Rarely does a Sunday go by when there isn't a giggle or a guffaw heard. The annual Epiphany Party / White Elephant gift exchange is hysterical.
  
  One of the biggest challenges that St. Anselm's faces is its lovely but secluded location. It's one story architecture and the grove of trees surrounding it hide it from people who are driving by. (Hint: Look for the shingled bell tower and the sign by the parking lot entrance.) It also is in the middle of a residential neighborhood, rather than close to a freeway or in the middle of town. However, it's worth the search for those taking the trouble to find it. Come Join Us!
